Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) slammed President Barack Obama for calling a string of recent scandals "phony" in a speech earlier this week.
"It is dismissive. It is insulting. It is minimizing. It's not validating the concerns that people have," Bachmann said in an interview with Fox News.
Obama called on Republicans to drop the "endless parade of distractions" during a Wednesday speech at Knox College.
"With an endless parade of distractions, political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball," he said. "And I am here to say this needs to stop. Short-term thinking and stale debates are not what this moment requires."
Bachmann said the remark showed the Obama administration's "complete inability to take personal responsibility for their actions and their policy decisions."
"These are ramifications, many of which come directly from their decisions, whether it's from the administration or whether it's from some of their political operatives that have also had impact on these decisions," Bachmann said. "At no time do they want to take responsibility.”
Bachmann has repeatedly hit Obama for recent scandals, including the IRS's targeting of certain groups in the lead-up to the 2012 election. In May, Bachmann suggested that scandal undermined "the credibility of the [2012] elections."
