Legendary wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage died on Friday in a car accident near Tampa, Fla., TMZ reports.

According to the accident report, Savage was behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler when he may have suffered a "medical event."

Florida Highway Patrol said Savage lost control of his vehicle and collided "head-on with a tree."

Savage's wife was in the vehicle, but survived with with "minor injuries."

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy “Macho Man” Savage," Vince McMahon said in a statement. "Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships."
