Combining vibrant graphic design with the beauty of the moving image, artist Yuriy Mironoff (aka MiRon) recently created a series using Graphics Interchange Format, or GIFs, that are truly mesmerizing.
The five-frame characters are reminiscent of the street art designs of Keith Haring mixed with the multi-colored details of Erik Parker. The Ukraine-based artist is serious about his GIF artwork, too, as he stated to the Daily Dot:
“For me, as an artist, it brings life to my creatures. I think that magazines and books will use GIFs as a common visual language. There will be more and more artists using GIFs as mediators between [the] world and themselves.”
