More than 100,000 people began marching through the streets of Edinburgh in a mass demonstration calling for action on African poverty at next week's Group of Eight summit in nearby Gleneagles.
The Make Poverty History rally through the centre of the Scottish capital is timed to coincide with the Live 8 series of rock concerts in nine nations around the world.
