Alabama offensive lineman Aaron Douglas was found dead on Wednesday night in Jacksonville, Fla., Tony Basilio of the ESPN Radio affiliate in Knoxville reports.

The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported that Douglas' former high school coach George Quarles texted the paper: "Yes he is dead I cannot talk right now but am deeply saddened by this tragedy."

According to the press release issued by the Fernandina Beach police, Douglas left his friends after dinner and took a taxi to Jacksonville. On the way, he was invited to a party by two women and was seen as late as 2:00 a.m. EDT. He was found Thursday morning lying on the second-floor balcony.

The cause of death is unknown.

Douglas was 21 years old and previously played at the University of Tennessee as a freshman. SportsByBrooks reported that Douglas recently participated in Alabama's spring practice drills.

According to his twitter page, Douglas flew to Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Before signing with Alabama in December, he played a season at Western Arizona Community College.
