Badminton World Federation Deputy President Paisan Rangsikitpho has provided explanation for the federation's recent decision to require women players to wear skirts to promote the game's image.

Since HuffPost reported the decision Wednesday, commenters have been asking exactly what the Federation and its all-male board was thinking when they created the policy, which is set to be implemented in June. Well, thanks to an interview with the Federation's Deputy President Paisan Rangsikitpho by reporter Emmet Gibney of Badminton Life, we have some insight.

In short: Rangsikitpho says he is not being sexist; he just wants the women to look good.
