After scoring on a penalty kick in FC Barcelona's 3-0 win over Racing Santander on Saturday, Lionel Messi revealed a message on his undershirt that said, "Happy birthday, mami."
According to Reuters, the referee didn't give the Argentine star a card, but he did mention the celebration in his match report.
More from Reuters:
The federation's disciplinary committee punished Messi under their article 91.1 for goal celebrations, which carries a fine of between 2000 and 3000 euros, and awarded him a yellow card.
Messi won his second straight FIFA player of the year award two weeks ago. He is the first repeat winner since Ronaldinho in 2004 and 2005.
