Marvin Harrison, one of the most prolific NFL receivers over the last decade, is once again entangled with the law. ESPN.com reports that police seized a firearm in Harrison's vehicle following a traffic stop Wednesday in Philadelphia:
According to the law enforcement sources, the patrolman saw Harrison place something that appeared to be a weapon in the seat console of his car. When the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle, Harrison produced a car registration and a permit to carry a weapon, both of which were in order. When he was asked whether he had a weapon, however, he answered no, the sources said.
According to the article, police then confiscated the handgun and will conduct tests to see if it is connected to a 2008 shooting. The target of that shooting survived the incident and accused Harrison of being the gunman, but the victim died after being shot again just three months later.
A GQ article published in January shed new light on the shootings, and authorities reopened their investigation shortly thereafter.
