White Sox Wish Mediocre Former Minor Leaguer A Happy Birthday

The Chicago White Sox made the odd decision on Wednesday to wish a a former bit player for the organization's minor league team a happy birthday.

The former outfielder briefly played for the Birmingham Barons, the team's Double-A affiliate, during the 1994 season alone. In 127 games, he batted just .202 with three home runs and 51 RBIs before deciding he would never reach his dream of making the big leagues and opting to return to his day job. 

Despite his lack of success with the team, the White Sox decided for unknown reasons to honor his 53rd birthday on Twitter on Wednesday, more than two decades after his brief stint with the Barons.

After Michael Jordan retired from his first career in October 1993, he pursued a baseball career that ended up being a bust. Jordan signed a minor-league contract with the Barons and struggled during the 1994 season.

Happy Birthday to this former Birmingham Baron, whoever he is.
