Ruth Bourdain's 'Comfort Me With Offal' Pokes Fun At Food Culture (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: How To Differentiate Curd Nerds From Carniwhores

Ruth Bourdain, the anonymous Twitter persona that managed to cleverly craft a mash-up of Ruth Reichl and Anthony Bourdain (and win a James Beard award in the process) has written a book, and it is available today. "Comfort Me with Offal" pokes fun at the many ridiculous aspects of food culture, from celebrity chefdom to hipster butchery (the book is dedicated to "pork" after all).

One of the early chapters is a field guide to the modern foodie. Ruth defines the many food subcultures out there, from charcuteristas to douchebaguettes. For certain definitions, s/he provides detailed illustrations of the terms. Not sure how to differentiate a curd nerd from a carniwhore? Take a look at the slideshow below and buy the book here.
