Huffington Post congressional correspondent Ryan Grim appeared on MSNBC today to discuss the difficulty of distinguishing the Tea Party movement from the modern Republican Party.

MSNBC anchor Tamron Hall asked Grim if the GOP will be tainted by recent incidents of Tea Party protesters yelling racial and homophobic epithets at members of congress. Grim responded:

It's not gonna hurt them too much within the Republican Party because you see similar behavior from members of Congress on the floor. You had somebody yelling "baby killer" at a pro-life Democrat earlier, you had somebody yell "You lie!" at the president of the United States during a State of the Union Address, and during the congressional debate a protester was being dragged out of the visitor's gallery and the Republicans were cheering him on. ... So there's really no divide between the Republican Party and these Tea Party protesters.
