Water Sports Fails (VIDEO)

WATCH: Water Sports Fails

Water sports are exhilarating, there's no doubting that. But, let's admit it, if you don't know the basics, you need to learn before you step your foot in the water. This compilation consists of fails you should avoid by all means to enjoy a pain-free experience.

Whether it's wakeboarding, jet skiing, kitesurfing, or white water rafting, you've got to hold on tight at all times. If you're inattentive, you can go rolling over the waves in the blink of an eye. Word of advice: do not look in the camera your friend flashes in your face, even if you're tempted to. (We know you dig celebrity-like attention, but learn to say no).

The ride can be pretty turbulent with high chances of whirling into self-damage, so a few reminders could come in handy. When you're kitetubing, remember it is not a sofa you can slouch in, it's a tube wobbling over water. When wakeboarding it is fine to show off your moves until you become more indulgent in the performance and less focused on balancing yourself. Also, don't go for grabs when kitesurfing or attempt a jet ski jump over a dock unless you are sure you aren't being filmed for an online audience. Most importantly: you can't get it right if you set out thinking like a pro.

Don't be deterred though, there's always a first. Just make sure you know just as little as which way to surf before you start off.

Nevertheless, practice makes perfect, folks!
