At Least Jeb Bush's Brother Endorsed Him For President

Jeb "will keep our country safe," the former president said.

It's been a rough week for Jeb Bush, who lost Monday's Iowa caucus after spending millions of donors' dollars there, and who has fallen behind in support among the GOP establishment.

But at least he can take solace in having locked down a ringing formal endorsement from his brother former president George W. Bush.

"The first job of the president is to protect America. Our next president must be prepared to lead," the former president said in a video message. "Jeb Bush is a leader who will keep our country safe."

Candidate Bush hasn't exactly shied away from his family name, but his brother hasn't often appeared with him on the campaign trial, either. That's all changing soon, though, as George and other members of the Bush clan plan to join Jeb! in South Carolina, a state the older brother won twice.

Jeb has also won the support of his mother, who once said that "we've had enough Bushes" in the White House.
