Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor is in trouble once again. According to the New York Post, Taylor is facing a federal sex trafficking lawsuit stemming from the 2010 incident during which he was caught with a 16-year-old prostitute in Suffern, N.Y.
In May 2010, the Hall of Famer was arrested at a Hollday Inn after being caught with the young girl. He was originally charged with third-degree rape for having sex with the teenage girl who was brought to the hotel against her will by a pimp. Taylor would later plead guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute. He would also be declared a low-risk sex offender.
After being sentenced to six years of probation, Taylor appeared on Studio B with Shepherd Smith to discuss the incident and his feelings about prostitution, noting that it's "the oldest profession in the world."
In this latest development in the case, the victimized girl from the 2010 incident is suing Taylor for punitive and compensatory damages.
In the complaint filed, the plaintiff claims that Taylor proceeded to engage in sex acts with her even though he was aware that she was being forced into the situation by the pimp, Rasheed Davis, under threat of violence.
"Taylor, a 51-year-old former professional football player who is 6'3'' and approximately 240 pounds, forced himself on Ms. Fierro, a slight teenager who was not only visibly injured, shaken and crying, but expressly told him she did not want to engage in sex and tried to push his enormous body off hers."
The lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $75,000 and the girl, now 18, is being represented by high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred.
