Photographer Matthew Cetta proves that you don't need a fancy smart phone to recreate the vintage photo filters we all love. Why use Instagram when bleach, soda and a little cough syrup do the trick just fine?

In "Photogenic Alchemy," Cetta demonstrates a strange analog process that adds psychedelic layers to 35mm film. Employing an impressive range of household items like vinegar, Pepto-Bismol, and turpentine, the emerging photographer transforms everyday street photos into wild works of art, all through the process of a little experimental chemistry.
"Photogenic Alchemy is an exercise in controlled chaos and a study in the science of art," Cetta write on his website. "By breaking down silver salts and celluloid to it’s elemental form, I’ve created a dark and gritty apocalyptic world."
