As if we didn't already spend enough time trolling Pinterest for furniture and decor ideas, Polyvore just gave us another reason to be attached to our laptops: The company announced on Tuesday that in addition to its focus on fashion and beauty products , it will also have a brand new community dedicated to home inspiration.
Launched in 2007, CEO Jess Lee told Fast Company that the home category was "always part of the plan," but fashion trendsetters jumped on the site's capabilities to design and share boards about clothes. Six years and 20 million unique visitors later, they've decided it's time to expand to other areas under the lifestyle umbrella. Now, users can create "moodboards" and design sets with images of their favorite furniture, accessories, rugs and lighting in addition to browsing what other people have created for ideas for their own place. The site also links market items back to e-commerce sites to make purchases.
