Bill Maher took CNN contributor Jeffrey Lord to task Friday over his claims that Russia did not influence the 2016 presidential election.

The “Real Time” host called BS on Lord’s assertion that there was no way Russia could have swung the vote in favor of then-GOP candidate Donald Trump because no electronic voting machines were physically manipulated.

“Let’s not play games here, Mr. Lord,” Maher told the vocal Trump supporter in what became a heated interview. “Don’t bullshit me!”

“There are other ways you can affect an election, and one of them is to hack the emails of one side and release those as a slow drip, drip, drip,” Maher added, in reference to widely reported allegations that Russian officials fed hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and its key party figures to Wikileaks.

Maher said that the president could possibly clear up the issue by releasing his tax returns, which would show he did not have any conflicts of interest with Russia. But Lord replied that wasn’t necessary, as Trump was simply following in the footsteps of other former “great presidents” in not making them available for scrutiny.
