Child-Free By Choice: Is It Ok For Women To Not Want Kids?

Child-Free By Choice: Is It OK For Women To Not Want Kids? (LIVE DISCUSSION)
|

Everyone's talking about this month's cover of the Atlantic, "Why Women Still Can't Have it All." In the essay, author Anne-Marie Slaughter argues that women still can't be successful at both career and family and feel fulfilled. Unlike Slaughter, some women don't want it all. They want to pick one or the other. Say a women makes the choice to simply not have children, will society judge her more harshly?

What do you think? Is it REALLY ok for women to chose not to have kids? Or do you think it's a selfish choice? Why is it socially more acceptable for men to be childless? Will our attitudes change any time soon?

Join us this Wednesday, June 27, at 1pm EDT for a live discussion on women who chose to be childless. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on this issue in the comments.
