While signing copies of his book "My Life In And Out Of The Rough," golfer John Daly was asked what he has learned about himself over the years.

"That I was happy when I was a miserable drunk," Daly told Rob Green Jr. of the Charlotte Observer. "I played better when I was drunk."

Daly also said that he has not had a drink in two years and he's working on his game, but he isn't getting much better.

"It's unbelievable. I'm giving myself the chance to play good," he said. "It seems the more I work, the worse I get."

Daly hasn't finished in the top 10 on the PGA Tour in four years.
