Tang does $1 billion in sales annually, and that most of its revenue comes from international sales. We investigated further as to what these exotic flavors were and what they actually tasted like:

Pear(01 of08)

Available in Argentina, the pear Tang tasted quite pear-like. The smell was especially realistic but the aftertaste was definitely not.
Hibiscus(02 of08)

This refreshing Tang flavor is available in Mexico and we were definitely ready to use it in a cocktail...minus the lingering smell of Hawaiian Punch.
Soursop(03 of08)

Native to Central/South America, the Caribbean and parts of Africa, the soursop tastes reminiscent of a more citrusy strawberry-pineapple combo. It is in the same genus as the chirimoya. This Tang flavor, available in Latin America and Brazil had strong notes of lychee. One of the favorites.
Tangerine(04 of08)

This was pretty close to classic Tang. It smelled a lot like orange Jell-O and the juice at the bottom of a can of mandarins. Available in Latin America.
Tamarind(05 of08)

With notes of apple cider, tamarind was generally a crowd pleaser. Available in Mexico.
Blackberry(06 of08)

Sadly, this flavor, available in Latin America, was fairly unremarkable. It had a horrible, artificial smell reminiscent of Kool-Aid and just didn't bring much to the table.
Orange/Mango(07 of08)

Orange/mango was not terribly different than classic orange Tang, but the mango added a nice extra layer. Available in Argentina.
Grape(08 of08)

This smelled like cough medicine and tasted like a very sugary version of Welch's grape juice. It was not nearly as refreshing as many of the other flavors. Available in Mexico.

Generally, the powdered drink really tasted like the fruit it was supposed to. Now, if only we could get some more soursops in North America.
