An aide to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson said the liberal Orlando Democrat is mulling an appearance next month at a "Tea Party" rally for smaller government -- an unusual stage for a lawmaker who recently introduced legislation to mandate that companies provide paid vacations.
Organizers boast the July 4 event, which will be held at the Amway Arena from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., could be the first time a Democratic member of Congress will appear at a Tea Party, at least in Florida. The grassroots efforts gained fame earlier this year when crowds in cities nationwide joined on April 15 to protest large government spending.
