Azzedine Alaïa -- a man who's been in the designing game since the 1980s and dressed everyone from Cher Horowitz ("Clueless," people) to First Lady Michelle Obama -- talked to Women's Wear Daily about the pressures associated with the industry.
Of the many yearly deadlines for new collections, Alaïa told the fashion newspaper, "It's inhumane." Naturally, the conversation turned to John Galliano. Alaïa remarked, "It's sad. He's a friend. It's too much: too many collections; too much pressure." He wouldn't speculate about who might take the helm at Dior, lamenting, "There are some people who are irreplaceable."
