Former NFL defensive back Darren Sharper was arrested on Friday in Los Angeles on charges of suspicion of rape, as reported by TMZ and ProFootballTalk.

TMZ reported that Sharper has been accused of two sexual assaults, one in October 2013 and another in January 2014.

The 38-year-old analyst for the NFL Network was released on $200,000 bail, per the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department website.

Sharper played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints throughout his 14-year career. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and was named First-Team All-Pro twice.

UPDATE: ESPN.com reports that Sharper is being investigated in connection with three separate sexual assaults. LAPD says its investigating two different sexual assaults in connection with the former NFL safety, while a New Orleans Police Department spokeswoman told ESPN that the NOPD is investigating a sexual assault allegation filed against Sharper in September 2013.
