Republican Dave Trott defeated Democrat Bobby McKenzie and incumbent Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, who ran as a write-in candidate, in the race to represent Michigan's 11th District in Congress.

Bentivolio mounted a write-in campaign after losing in the GOP primary to Trott.

The congressman-elect is an attorney and businessman who was attacked during his campaign for his role in, and profits from, the foreclosure crisis.
