WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Eric Cantor said Monday that he would like to see fellow Republican congressman Paul Ryan seek their party's 2012 presidential nomination.
"Paul is about real leadership,'' Cantor told reporters as Republicans try to come up with a candidate who can defeat Democratic President Barack Obama in next year's election.
Ryan is author of the party's controversial plan to revamp the Medicare health program for the elderly.
