The highlights of week 10 include the New Orleans Saints treating their rival Atlanta Falcons to their first loss of the season while riding the legs of late-season savior Chris Ivory. The New York Giants free fall continues, as they appeared to take the first of two straight bye weeks despite a scheduled contest against the Bengals.

While the Giants struggled, the fans still have bragging rights over the neighbor New York Jets fans who continue to insight controversy with not one, but two over-hyped and underperforming quarterbacks.

In the fantasy world Calvin Johnson made headlines with 200-plus yards for the Lions while Adrian Peterson is as good as ever despite returning from last year’s serious knee injury. The rookie sensations, meanwhile, continue to dazzle as Russell Wilson lit up the Jets with some impressive deep tosses into the end zone, while Andrew Luck looks like he can lead the Colts back into the postseason.

Here’s a look at six players who offered key performances in fantasy football and yet remain available in the majority of leagues.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups
Chris Ivory, RB - New Orleans Saints(01 of06)

The Saints have kept one of their top weapons hidden on the sidelines for the majority of the season, but Chris Ivory finally got the call in week nine and he responded with 10 carries for 48 yards with a touchdown and a two-yard reception against the Eagles. This week he did even better against the Falcons despite fewer touches. The efficient performances are not out of the ordinary for Ivory, as suggested by his stellar 5.2 yards per carry for his career with more than 230 NFL rushes to his credit. The only concern for Ivory right now is that he continues to get overlooked by the Saints. Even with his heroics in back-to-back weeks, Ivory had just seven of the 28 carries for the Saints this past weekend. (credit:AP)
Marcel Reece, RB - Oakland Raiders(02 of06)

Even though the Raiders entered the week with Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson hobbled with ankle injuries, there was a great deal of uncertainty as to which running back would get the start in the backfield. Taiwan Jones has drawn raves from his teammates based on his speed and explosiveness displayed in practice. Marcel Reece drew fantasy attention with his eight receptions for 95 yards with a touchdown last week against the Buccaneers, but he did not get a single carry. As it turns out, Reece proved to the team’s lead back with 13 carries for 48 yards against the Ravens. Reece again enjoyed the bulk of his value as a receiving threat, racking up seven receptions for 56 yards in the blowout. Available in 68% of fantasy leagues, Reece led the team with nine targets and should continue to play a vital role for the Raiders until McFadden and Goodson recover. (credit:AP)
Donald Jones, WR - Buffalo Bills(03 of06)

If you’re looking for a consistent target consider Bills wide out Donald Jones. The veteran has now posted 45-plus yards in each of the last three games and most recently led the team with 10 targets against the Patriots this past weekend. After racking up a solid six receptions for 74 yards with a touchdown last weekend, Jones is on pace for a solid 675-plus yards and seven touchdowns this season. Jones is ripe for the picking and is available in 92% of fantasy leagues. (credit:Getty Images)
Danario Alexander, WR - San Diego Chargers(04 of06)

The Chargers may have spent a lot of money on Robert Meachem, but they seem to have realized that they are better off with Danario Alexander as their starting wide out. It was Alexander who led the team with seven targets and 134 yards against the Bucs this weekend, while Meachem had just one target all game. Alexander could very well be the top waiver wire pickup this week as he has racked up 195 yards over the last two weeks and remains available in 97% of fantasy leagues. Though far from a star, Alexander was solid last season with 431 yards in 10 games with the Rams. (credit:AP)
Cecil Shorts, WR - Jacksonville Jaguars(05 of06)

A frequent in this column, Cecil Shorts continues to make Bloomberg Sports proud as a weekly overachiever despite still being available in more than two-thirds of fantasy leagues. Most recently, Shorts went off for six grabs and 105 yards and a touchdown on Thursday night against the Colts. That is now four straight games with 50-plus yards for Shorts, a hot-streak that has him on pace for 997 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The only problem for Shorts is that he next faces a very good Texans defense. (credit:AP)
Laurent Robinson, WR - Jacksonville Jaguars(06 of06)

Only in fantasy football can you go from a sleeper to a bust and then back to a sleeper all in the span of 10 games. Laurent Robinson was a key off-season acquisition by the Jaguars, but after dealing with injuries early in the season he has bounced back in recent weeks. On Thursday, Robinson hauled in nine receptions for 77 yards while leading the team with a shocking 15 targets. Robinson has now pulled in 15 receptions over the last two weeks and is shining particularly bright in leagues that reward fantasy managers with points per receptions. Available in 90% of fantasy leagues, Robinson can certainly make an impact down the stretch even while suiting up for one of the worst teams in the NFL. (credit:AP)
