Fashion Wants You To Put Some Pretty Weird Stuff On Your Face

Coachella ain't over until fashion says it's over.

Think back to that time you were in the dusty desert, soaking up the rays at a music festival with metallic tattoos and gems on your face. Well, looks like those facial accessories are extending their stay in fashion, according to the New York Fashion Week runways. 

This week there were several instances of what we like to call face jewelry. Bejeweled freckles? Sure. And it wouldn't be a true Givenchy show without those ornately designed masks. 

So in our quest to find somewhat of a cohesive beauty trend throughout the many, many shows, we couldn't help but notice the abundance of facial adornment that transcended traditional makeup.

Get the look: Spray Tresemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo on to hair to absorb excess oil, then pull hair into a low, messy side bun, securing with an elastic and bobby pins. Get the look: Create a center part all the way to the highest point of the head. Evenly distribute Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer from the roots to the ends. Section hair from top of head to ears, combing down from the part. Gather all hair at the nape of the neck using the paddle brush and create a tight, low ponytail. Secure the ponytail in place with an elastic and reinforce with pins. With remaining hair in the pony, create a loose loop and secure with another elastic. Get the look: Prep hair with Aveda Thickening Tonic and blow dry hair straight. Pull strands into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic holder. Taking the end of the pony, pull hair up and over the base to make a loop, leaving hair to fan out the sides and top. (credit:Courtesy of Aveda)

Get the look: Apply palm-fulls of René Furterer Volumea Volumizing Foam - No Rinse all over hair in sections, concentrating on roots and brushing back with a boar bristle brush. Next, blow dry hair with the nozzle close to the roots while brushing hair in a backward motion. Straighten hair in sections with a flat iron until it is sleek and shiny. Pull back into a mid ponytail and create a small loop at the base. Secure it tightly with a bungee cord to maintain shape. Let the remaining strands of ponytail hang straight down. Get the look: Prep hair with Catwalk by Tigi Bodifying Spray to achieve volume and texture. Blowdry the front section with a round brush, leaving natural movement in the ends. Gather into a pony at the nape and create a loose knot. Once the chignon is secured, separate with fingers while using bobby pins to secure pieces of hair where desired. Get the look: Pull the hair back into a low ponytail and roughly twist down to loop the hair into a low knot. To make the hair look as natural as possible, leave out 2 inches toward the end of the twist so it sticks out on the right side. Finish by misting Phytolaque Soie Hairspray to keep in place.
