We've found definitive proof that moms are absolutely amazing, and it comes in the shape of a giant worm -- a giant sour gummy worm, to be exact. Ann Reardon of How To Cook That made an epically sized gummy worm for her son's birthday at his request -- and if that's not unconditional love, we don't know what is. This thing is awesome:
One look at this giant sour gummy worm and we thought: HOW?! How does one go about making such a creation within the confines of their own home kitchen? Turns out it's pretty simple. Once you procure the not-so-common ingredients -- like blooming gelatin, citric acid, sorbitol and the giant worm mold -- it's just like baking a cake, only without the baking. Gummy candy is heated first, and then sets into wobbly greatness as it cools. So it's even easier than baking a cake.
The hardest part about making a giant gummy worm is pinching the mold to make sure the two flavor halves don't overlap. After that, you just have to wait for the magic to happen. Watch the video above to see how it's done.
