John Green Tells You What Books To Buy As Gifts (VIDEO)

WATCH: John Green Tells You What To Read
|

John Green, the likable, nerdy YA author of The Fault in Our Stars, has made a YouTube video telling readers which books to give as gifts this Christmas.

This is part of a series of webisodes he has recorded about reading and general book nerd culture. Like his other videos, which include a snarky break-down of Romeo and Juliet and a hilarious yet inspiring explanation of the importance of literature, this one features his signature enthusiasm and wit.

"I thought I'd recommend some books in an 'If you, then you' format," he quips. "For example, if you liked 50 Shades of Grey then you can find lots of that stuff on the Internet for free."

Other recommendations include:
For fans of Catcher in the Rye: Sula by Toni Morrison
For fans of the Hunger Games trilogy: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
For fans of Downton Abbey: Really, any Jane Austen novel

Check out the rest of Green's recommendations at the top of the page, and tell us what books YOU'LL be giving this year for Christmas!
