It's National Library Week, a time to celebrate and recognize the valuable contribution libraries make to our communities. Four ICMA Public Library Innovation grantees and Jill Nishi of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation discuss their projects and the role libraries play in helping communities recover from the economic downturn.

Also, for those interested in the report discussed in my last blog posting may want to learn more at a free ICMA webinar. The lead researcher from the University of Washington and others will discuss the study on libraries and Internet access. Date: April 20, 2010. Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST.
