Robert Greene wrote the bestseller "The 48 Laws of Power," and he's about to return with a new book, "Mastery," ($28.95, Viking, November 13th.) Its trailer contains some of the most dramatic uses of classical music hyperbole and floating typography we've seen.

The book takes as its premise the idea that genetics and personal responsibility as the keys to understanding the strategies and skills of the world's truly great achievers, including Da Vinci, Steve Jobs and Charles Darwin.
