Michelle Obama On 'The Colbert Report': Bare Arms Are Back (VIDEO)

Last time Michelle Obama came on "The Colbert Report" in 2008, she was introduced as someone who "just might be the next First Lady of the United States." This time around, much has changed...

But then, so much hasn't. In 2008, Stephen Colbert opened by telling Mrs. Obama, "You're a very good-looking lady." Four years later, that's definitely still true: FLOTUS appeared on Colbert's show last night looking just as radiant and wearing the same sleeveless style of dress that she made her signature in 2008.

Whereas she chose teal for her first "Colbert" appearance, this past Wednesday night it was a dusty gray dress by Rachel Roy with a flattering boatneck cut and accented with a flower broach. She also wore metallic pointy-toed pumps, which were the flashiest part of an otherwise staid outfit.

As she makes the media rounds, FLOTUS has chosen a blue and green colorblocked dress by Preen for the "Late Show With David Letterman" and a glowing gold and mint green number for the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. But on Colbert's blindingly bright red and blue set, Michelle wisely made a muted fashion statement.

Except, of course, for those arms. The toned limbs that put FLOTUS on the map were out in full force last night, which to us (who read into these things) is a definite sign that this campaign is on: with Mitt Romney as the presumptive Republican candidate for president, it's officially a race and from the looks of it, the first lady is ready.

Bring it, Ann Romney.
