Supreme Court Decisions On Affirmative Action, Voting Rights And Gay Marriage Coming Soon

Court Decision Coming
|

The Supreme Court could decide major cases Thursday on affirmative action, voting rights and gay marriage.

The court has three decision days left and 14 decisions to make. The court typically breaks after the end of June and announces decisions on Mondays and Thursdays.

The most-watched cases remaining are on Fisher v. University of Texas, challenging the school's affirmative action policy; Shelby County v. Holder, challenging the constitutionality of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act; and cases on the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act and California's gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.

SCOTUS Blog predicted that a gay marriage ruling is most likely to come on June 26 or 27.
