This History Docuseries Is A Top Show On Netflix Right Now

A spy comedy and an anthology series are also trending on streaming services like Max, Hulu, Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video.

“Alexander: The Making of a God” is currently the one of the most popular shows on Netflix, according to the streaming service’s public ranking system.

The new historical docuseries details Alexander the Great’s life and rise to power in the fourth century BCE through a mix of academic talking heads and dramatic re-enactments. 

“Alexander: The Making of a God” premiered on Jan. 31 and consists of six episodes about 40 minutes long.

“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Feb. 2. Inspired by the 2005 movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, this spy comedy tells the story of a married couple who are secretly assassins. 

Donald Glover and Maya Erskine play the titular characters, while Alexander Skarsgård, Paul Dano, Sharon Horgan, Sarah Paulson, Parker Posey and Michaela Coel appear in guest roles. 

The second season of the Ryan Murphy anthology series “Feud” ― “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” ― is trending on Hulu following the release of the first two episodes on Jan. 31.

Tom Hollander stars as Capote alongside Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore and Molly Ringwald as the titular New York socialite “swans.” The show dives into the unraveling of the writer’s friendships with the high society women.

“Rick and Morty” is currently the second most popular show on Max.

The seventh season of the Adult Swim animated sitcom joined the streaming service on Jan. 22 after wrapping on Dec. 17, so fans can now watch the 10 latest episodes at their leisure. 

“Ted” is trending on Peacock after the new comedy series debuted on Jan. 11. A prequel to the two “Ted” movies, the show presents the early life of the sentient teddy bear character voiced by Seth MacFarlane. 

Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes and Giorgia Whigham also appear in the show.
