WASHINGTON -- What happens when members of Congress have to take tough votes on war and national security?

They say confusing things.

How confusing? "Orwellian" doesn't quite capture it. "Wonderland" might be closer.

To get a better sense, HuffPost put together a video quiz showcasing 13 lawmakers, both Democrats and Republicans. Follow along and see if you can guess whether or not these lawmakers voted in the way their words would suggest -- or if perhaps they were just throwing out some metaphorical countermeasures designed to cover their flanks and disguise whether they support President Barack Obama and his war on Islamic State militants.

Watch it above, and good luck.
