Dear Donald Trump, Periods Are Not An Insult

It's time to think up some new taunts.
|

Donald Trump was not pleased with FOX News' Megyn Kelly's questions during the GOP debate, and he's sure it has something to do with her period.

In an August 7 interview with CNN, Trump told Don Lemon: "[Kelly] gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. In my opinion, she was off base."

While Trump later claimed that the "wherever" he referred to was in fact Kelly's nose, many have interpreted the remark as a really mature period insult

And women from both sides of the aisle aren't having it.

Amber Gordon of Femsplain created the twitter hashtag #PeriodsAreNotAnInsult, encouraging women to tweet directly at Trump to let him know that his comments were totally uncalled for.

Gordon also created a Periods Are Not An Insult website, where people who get periods and people who don't can send standardized tweets directed at Trump,  showing how ridiculous his comments were.

Hopefully Trump will rethink his insult game next time.
