Hillary Clinton: There's More To America Than The Kardashians

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sat down with an Australian comedic duo for an interview that aired Tuesday, in which she appeared to to be concerned about the world's image of Americans and the nation's collective lifestyle.

After television personalities Hamish and Andy opened a line of questioning about the point Clinton's trips abroad, the secretary of state agreed with their contention that it was in part to help moderate "the way American is perceived."

The comedians pointed to the Kardashians as an appropriate indicator of how many view the United States.

"If you look at American TV as much of the rest of the world does, you would think we all went around wrestling and wearing bikinis. I mean, that's what you would think we spend our entire day doing, right?" Clinton responded. "So instead of viewing us as a caricature, a kind of reality TV version of America, I think it's important, especially with thought leaders, young people on campuses like this, to be present to answer questions and to try to make some connections."
