Like all tweens in the '70s, Judd Apatow was the world's biggest Steve Martin fan. Until the fateful day that Martin declined to give him an autograph, just because li'l Judd trespassed on his property in Los Angeles to try to get the signature.

Cut to 2012. Judd Apatow runs Hollywood, and Steve Martin is an art collector or something. They relived the moment for January's Vanity Fair, which Apatow guest edited, in a photo portraying Martin as leading tourists to Apatow's front yard (the technical term for this is "the old switcheroo.")

The video is unembeddable, but click over to Vanity Fair to hear Martin and Apatow tell the story of their first encounter at their Vanity Fair photoshoot.
