California state Sen. Mimi Walters (R) has won the race to represent California's 45th Congressional District.

Walters, who has served in the state Senate since 2008, ran against Democrat Drew Leavens, a San Diego-area counselor. The seat opened up after Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.) announced his decision to retire after five terms.
