Last March saw the seventh anniversary of Mitch Hedberg's untimely passing, and in the years since, his brilliantly constructed jokes have achieved comedy immortality. And like any great artist, he had a hearty mix of inspiration.

In this gorgeous and moving tribute to to the late comic's work, Hedberg's widow Lynn Shawcroft gives never-before-seen insight into his writing process. Countless notebooks full of the scribblings that led to an all-too-short body of work are shown in the fourth installment of Scott Moran's "Modern Comedian," which should resonate with any artist who takes their work seriously.

Turns out there was a lot going on behind jokes about frozen bananas and "parties of two."
