If you have trouble switching off your thoughts at night, consider adding a nightcap to your evening routine. Typically made with cream, egg or brandy, this bedtime tipple gets its name from the cozy old-timey sleepwear known for its practicality and warmth when heat was scarce.

Similarly, a "capper" relaxes and restores, and is a deliciously soothing way to end a tiresome day of work.

So avoid going to sleep thirsty by fixing these five satisfying nightcaps and remember: A drink before bed does wonders for your head.
