The premiere of Conan O'Brien's new show on TBS went off with a bang last night, starting with a hilarious cold opening and leading into a solid monologue by the sorely-missed host. "Conan" felt to some just like "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" but a cable version, which makes sense because it had the same fun, silly vibe that "Late Night" did. Oh, and adding the string dance and a glimpse of Masturbating Bear didn't hurt either.

Conan's monologue started by explaining his transition from network to cable, joking that he named his show "Conan" so he'd be "harder to replace." He then acknowledged the irony that he wouldn't do "The Tonight Show" on NBC at midnight, yet because yesterday was the end of Daylight Savings Time, it was actually past 12:00 a.m. anyway.
