Republican Curt Clawson has defeated his opponent, Democrat April Freeman, in the Tuesday election to represent Florida's 19th congressional district.

Clawson was first elected to Congress in June, when he won the special election to replace former Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.), who resigned in January after being arrested and charged with cocaine possession in October 2013.
