The Funniest Post-Hurricane Irene Tweets
|

We've said it before and we'll say it again: no event can be properly processed until there's a funny Twitter slideshow to go along with it. And Hurricane Irene's march along the eastern seaboard is no different.

Much of Sunday's tweeted jokes were focused on Irene's lack of destruction in New York City. Not that anyone wanted the city to be devastated, it's just that they expected a little more than heavy rain and mild flooding. Of course, for every sarcastic tweet, there were five others proclaiming jokesters to be glib in the face of good fortune, and they might have a point. Nevertheless, we thought these were hilarious.

Best of luck to everyone in their cleanup efforts; hopefully, these tweets will give you something to laugh about in the process.
