KISS 'Beth' Parody Tells Story Behind The Song -- Hilariously (VIDEO)

WATCH: The KISS Army Will Not Approve

Look away, KISS historians. A sly new short posted on Vimeo "mockuments" how the band's hit ballad "Beth" came about. Turns out Beth was home cooking meat loaf while her hubby and the song's co-writer, KISS drummer Peter Criss, was at the studio with the rest of the band. She wants him home for dinner. His response, of course, is the song's famous refrain: "Beth, what can I do?"

And on the domestic exchange goes, with more "Beth" lyrics thrown in. Lots of 1970s details spiff up the spoof, which was directed by Brian Billow.

The video's writer, Bob Winter, said in AdWeek, "Maybe the next song is 'Jump' by Van Halen, and it turns out it was really about one band member helping another band member avoid stepping in dog poop."

Look out, David Lee Roth.
