President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Flynn, resigned Monday evening amid controversy over discussions he had about U.S. sanctions against Russia with that country’s ambassador.
Flynn’s discussions with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak took place before Trump’s inauguration.
Flynn said he was “honored” to serve in Trump’s administration.
