There are very few people who actually want to eat tempeh. This brick of fermented soybean -- common in Indonesia -- has a strong flavor that turns many people off. It's not subtle like tofu can be. But if you're following a vegetarian or vegan diet, incorporating tempeh is crucial in keeping your protein options interesting. (There are only so many days a week one can eat lentils.)
