Last week in Washington, DC there was a snowstorm. It came complete with thundersnow (which turns out not to have been an 80's hair band even though it totally sounds like one). Only eight inches fell, but because of a combination of timing, ice, and stupidity -- the storm resulted in the worst rush hour the city has seen in its EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEAR history. Some of us were at home, feeling snug and warm and nicely buzzed. Feeling sorry for people whose normal 45-minute commute was now taking 11 hours on ice-drenched, post-apocalyptic, lawless roads. Then the texts started, and they documented their descent into madness and fury...
