Twyla Tharp

Richard Avedon suggested that Twyla and I meet since she was looking for someone to do the costumes for her new work, In the Upper Room.

The minute I met Twyla, I was excited about the open approach she had to collaboration. She was trying something new in dance and as I made suggestions, she pushed them further and I went along for the ride.

I am happy to say that since then, we have been able to continue to work together. The sisterly trust I have with Twyla is especially helpful when you know that the project will be innovative, well done and conceived by a master. As a friend, she is my go-to for advice when an honest opinion is all you really want.

I knew Twyla was a key person to include in my "Conversations" series of wellness interviews with people who have solutions.

Our planet and the challenged environment now is like no other time ever before. In addition, we are living in a time of fast food farming technology and the choices and access to positive solutions for healthy options are very difficult to find. "Conversations" is an attempt to offer solutions that are accessible and to offer conversation about the topics include in wellness.

The cast of "Conversations" offer a variety of solutions, and Twyla will get us off our butts to make changes by sharing her proven, common sense, practical approach.

Norma will be hosting a screening of her "Conversations" A Dialogue of Wellness Solutions at the Museum of Modern Art in the Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 2 (11 West 53rd Street, NY) on September 30th, 2010 at 11am. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with notable authors/experts to discuss wellness solutions.
