What's in your purse? Possibly over 20 pounds of stuff, according to the Telegraph UK. Based the results of a OnePoll survey, the average handbag weighs 23 pounds (10.5 kilograms), the same amount as a small child.

The most popular items to carry include cell phones, "keys, pens, tissues, headache tablets, chewing gum, MP3 players, lip balm, a mirror and deodorant." Two surprises: men are more likely than women to carry spare underwear and they are also more likely to carry their pet dogs in a bag.
